Coat of Arms

Featured Replies

Had a guy give me a pic of his family's Coat of Arms and said to try and come up with something.  I made a call to MEBCWD and he did his magic with his computer and Aspire and came up with a file.  I cut one and showed the customer a pic.  He ordered 4 more for family members, making this a pretty good commission even after having to pay to have the file made.

Which program do you use to make them?

Aspire from Vectric.

I love a coat of arms. I've used one once in some of my projects,...plan to use quite a few more. They are great subject matter. These turned out nice

That is pretty neat!  Very detailed.  Do you have to change bits to switch from hogging out the outer parts to what was needed for the intricate design of the helmet and shield?

Made the rough cut with a 1/4" end mill.  Used a 1/8" ball nose for the main finish cut.  And then went down to a 1/16" ball nose on the shield.  Text was a 60 deg Vbit.
