July 13, 20206 yr A YouTube multipart series on how Chris does a "Quick & Dirty" tool chest using plywood and drywall screws.
July 13, 20206 yr Author The big one is more than I need. I'm thinking a mid-sized one for carrying tools in the van. My first "toolbox" was a pear crate that served several purposes: - Book box when moving off 2 states to college - Nightstand - Tool box for first apartment after college Edited July 13, 20206 yr by kmealy
July 13, 20206 yr Our daughter wants to build a new blanket/tool chest together. I will pass this along to her and look on you tube for the rest of the series. Thanks Keith, very timely

Thanks Keith, very timely I watched all of the series. Very informative. Also reinforced things I had learned the hard way.
July 13, 20206 yr Author FYI Episode 8 has some good techniques for hand-cutting dovetails. And uses the "cabinetmaker's triangle in this and some earlier episodes. An earlier episode (maybe #6) has some good newbie information on table saw usage. #7 has info on mortising hinges using a router plane and chisel. I do wish he'd used something besides drywall screws, though, to assemble the box. Like maybe regular screws. Edited July 13, 20206 yr by kmealy
