June 25, 20205 yr Popular Post I don't have much exotic pieces left and keep going thru my odds and ends left in a box. I did find enough to make this and continue my experimenting with UV finish. First the wood wasn't in the greatest shape, so I used glitter in my finish and the band in the middle. Next I dipped the point at the bottom in the uv finish and placed it directly in the sun and Within 3 seconds, it hardened, giving the appearance of a dripping icicle. It don't dry hard, but remains semi flexible. I don't know how it ages yet. The piece is 3" high.

It is water soluble and I let it dry overnight before I continue. Then other finishes can be applied. It is super expensive...3 colors for a dollar at the dollar store kids dept. I use a brush for light applications and I squeeze out in small blobs, which dry flat, for heavier coverage. Edited June 25, 20205 yr by Ron Altier add

Thanks Gerald, a friend just gave me a nice load of wood small pieces. She is moving and don't want to haul wood around. I'll have to go thru it but It looks like I'll be OK for quite a while now.
