One Way chuck lube

Featured Replies

I periodically  remove, disassemble and clean my One Way chuck on my mini lathe. I have not lubricated it. I wondered if it needed it, it always operates smoothly. I saw a Youtube video where a lathe guy removed, cleaned and lubed his chucks.

He did not state the name of the dry lube spray he used, just sprayed it on. I did not use lube because I feared that it would not lock in place and could just loosen easily. However, after years of use it don't operate smoothly as it did.

What do you use to lube with?

Thanks Lew, maybe I was doing it right. I think I am going to try the spray just once and see how I like it.

I've used paste wax on mine.  I only ever had to take two of them apart to clean.

Thanks, Lew.  Like Dan, I clean now and then with mineral spirits and apply a coat of paste wax and buff out the finish parts.
