May 23, 20206 yr Popular Post Missed one last week. Drove by one this morning.......clothes and nic-nacs...meh.....couple of turns, found a second one, un-listed.....but... There was a large Flat Rate box...about 1/2 full of Lego parts....bought that for the 10 yr old GrandBRAT....$8....as for me....spent $6.... $1 for a plastic baggie... Need to inventory it, and see IF it is worth a dollar bill....the other $5? Stanley No. 110, "bottle cap" adjuster, and a Wm Johnson of Newark, NJ 6" Tempered compass... Hmmm...not my pencil. As for that "inventory"? Most of them...even a bit holder I might have a few, to fill in the missing ones... The stamp is an "S", not too sure about those 2 huge tips... The Stanley No. 110? Almost the same as the one I started out woodworking with...still had the factory grind edge on the blade. I turned down a Millers Falls No. 75 that was also sitting there. Compass has been cleaned up, new pencil, too.. So...not too bad for the first day of the season?
May 23, 20206 yr Popular Post Each year at my birthday, fathers day, Christmas my kids and grandkids would get me some sort of kit that included multiple screwdrivers, sockets, etc. I finally told them that I more than I need. I can see how a lot of them end out in garage sales. HD and Lowes have those Christmas specials and a lot end out in guy storage places. I wait until about Feb and get the things I need and clearance prices. Someday they can clear out my shop and have a sale too.
May 23, 20206 yr Popular Post My better half has said she wants to be cautious and has not been going to any yard sales (that I know of). I am trying to encourage that behavior!

June 6, 20206 yr Author Spent $9 today.....wasn't much to get excited about....yet, when you can pull up to the sale, and smell RUST when you get out of the van... $1 for the square. Another place had the rest....that big rasp was still SHARP....according to my fingers...also three 3" C clamps. Silver object is a screwdriver bit for a brace... Nail set is a No. 11-3/4, 3/32" by Stanley. Not sure who made the huge rasp.... Which brings me to this drill.....Red handle has gold lettering..."100 Plus" the crank handle also has the 100 Plus, a STANLEY in the clipped corner box, and No. 610 $4.....a few drops of oil in all the oiler holes, runs smooth, and quiet.Fully enclosed gear box, too. Not too bad of a morning?
June 8, 20206 yr Author Now, the strange part.....Jim Bode is selling that same No.610 drill on his site....$69.....looks exactly like the one I paid $4 for......
