May 7, 20206 yr Since I've lost my source of supply for some finishes, I've been experimenting around with different ones. Here is an article by General Finishes that compares a lot of them. https://generalfinishes.com/compare-all-topcoats?fbclid=IwAR0ht6mdIlVjO4YYTeMw9dA_0XuDv7-2RMPsLV637NSYwFrxR_kn5y5G2Uw Their web site also has a lot of how-to videos. https://generalfinishes.com/how-to-videos GF products are available at specialty stores such as Rockler and Woodcraft, among others. Wal*mart is also carrying some of them and if they don't have them in the store, you may be able to get through ship-to-store (free shipping). I've also stumbled into an informational facebook page that seems to be monitored by GF staff to answer questions. I just have to figure out who they are and what all the AFE (acronyms for everything) are. A lot of them are the people that are going to gel stain their kitchen darker or grab some vintage furniture and paint it white or green, if you can put up with that. https://www.facebook.com/groups/generalfinishesuniversity/ Edited May 7, 20206 yr by kmealy
May 7, 20206 yr Now that I have a dedicated finishing room I should put some serious effort into better finishes.
May 7, 20206 yr Just remember what Flexner said (somewhere) about finishing...1/2 of what you read is correct. You just don't know which 1/2 it is.
