Sanding masks

I buy my sanding/turning masks at HD. I like the ones with exhaust one way ports. They come in packs of 2. I was at HD a few weeks ago and their supply was nearly gone. Only one box of 30 of N95 was left, no ports.  I needed some, so I got the box, knowing I probably never use them all. However I learned years ago, when I was a power plant worker, that protection was paramount. Yesterday I found the other mask with the port. Oh well. Then it occured to me that box of filters are the ones that everyone is looking for, especially my daughter. She still goes to the office and there are no masks available anywhere. So when I told her she was delighted. Now she has enough for her family and coworkers (4) I see where they are now recommending that if you have a mask, wear it. You could already have the virus and not know it. A mask could keep you from contaminating others.

Sometimes dumb luck pays off.

They have been telling us to not wear masks, now they tell us to.  They were telling us that the masks would not protect us, but those giving service to injured, ill or with possible Coronavirus were wearing masks to protect them.  The argument only goes one way, not both.  So, if it protects the first line responders and medical workers, then masks should protect us.  Like another poster here, I have one of those 3M masks which I use when sanding as I have lung problems already.  I need to go to the fabric shop to buy new elastics to refurbish.  And, I will order new canisters so I can protect myself.  Just saying.
