It takes about an hour to get to this stage. See all the v shapes, it is to keep the pieces kinda in line and the notches in to other pieces are for the same thing. More learning as I go. 

I'm also trying to keep maw happy but its getting hard to keep up with the little frames for her glass stuff. I'm using some very cheap cedar I bought at auction in 1981.. The whole stall went for one low price at a lumber yard auction I just couldn't let it go for such a low bid so I bid and got …... Almost 500 pieces of long 1x4"s and it has been bugging me ever since cause I had to keep it in my shop out of the weather.  So now I get to use it making her these frames...

Saturday, so far I have use the 1 x 42" belt sander and the Dremel with 3 bits from Wood Carvers. I will smooth it with some diamond and ruby 1/8" bits then finish up with sand paper.

  I do believe this is the most enjoyable times I have had in the shop for years. And not using much wood so that's good...

 

I got the stain on and stopped for the day.

and after a little color is added.

Then the last coat of finish and then attach the pieces to the backer board and hang it on the fire place.. Only place left in the house!!!!!!
