No more wonderful feeling in the world than to be able to pass on knowledge to those who want to learn!

That is awesome and I am gld to see he is learning but for safety's sake his hair must be tighly buned and never dangling.  Rotating equipment like a lathe can wrap the hair up faster than he can react pulling him into the lathe.

told him that.

Saw a machinist almost scalped by a turning lathe. Long hair. Either a bun or hair net can save much grief.

Have to agree with others about anything dangling and able to catch in any rotating machine.  Now, I want to congratulate you on achieving this event.  You continue to assist when you need to and let them learn.  These are very special memories.  Someday, they will tell little ones, "I learned this from ......"

My high school shop instructor laid out the rules the first day.

No long hair (in those days crew cuts were norm) No horse play.

No loose clothes. Shirts tucked in and buttoned. No gloves.

Goggles always and NO horse play. Know your machine.

Probably the biggest rule was to keep you mind and eyes on your job.

He reviewed each rule and laid the law down up front. I never forgot.
