New England Sugar Chest?

I've been going through my computer/hard drive and trying to find some of my past woodworking projects and came across this chest that I had copied from an attic room at Historic Deerfield. The first photo shows the actual chest with, I believe, cones of sugar??? I duplicated this chest but did an enlargement(2X) of it. Note the sliding lid. It received two locks and two cast iron chest lifts before going in the house. My wife uses it to store our seasonal artwork when it's not being displayed.

Simple Sturbridge oil-based paints.... starting off with an antique yellow base layer, followed by a cherry/mahogany stain, and a dark green paint for the corners/drawer. The graining done with various brushes/rags.
