Woodcraft Clearance Sale February 24 2020

Featured Replies

Is it just the local store or true of all Woodcraft?   Here they seem to cater to woodturners and not so much anyone else?  I used to teach there as well as a friend of mine (finishing, band saws, joinery, etc.).  Now all they do is turning classes.  While they carry other stuff in the store, the lathes are front and center.   They give the woodturners' guild a discount, but not the woodworkers' club.  They say there is not as much a markup for our stuff (though nothing that I know of prevents a woodturner from going in and buying finish, wood, router bits, saws, etc.)  So, frankly, I go to Rocker 20 times as often as Woodcraft, though they're within a 1/4 mile of each other.  They've been in three locations and have gone from company store, to franchisee, to another franchisee, back to company store, and I'm not sure what they are now.

I did manage to go to the Woburn, MA store wayback when that was the only one, then the Parkersburg, WV store when they moved to there.  I don't think either was over 1000 sq ft.

Is that the stores near Tri-County? That Rockler has been there a while, but the WC is a little newer. I don't think I've been to it, but I've been in the Rockler store several times.

I received the information in an email so I’m thinking it is the entire organization

Yes.  The Woodcraft store used to be an outlot near a mall that was never successful from day 1 despite several attempts of revival and I think is now down to two stores, one of which is BassPro that will probably get merged up with the Cabela's a few miles north.  They moved to Tri-County some time ago and had a store that was way too big for what they needed and eventually moved to a smaller storefront in the same strip mall.   Harbor Freight is at the other end of the strip mall now.  Rockler has likewise moved once, about 200' feet away and now in an outlot of Havertys Furniture.  Both are one exit away from I-75 / I-275 interchange.

If you ever need a Woodcraft for something, consider the Dayton store (Crosse Point Center). I'm not sure if it's closer.further from you, but they still do the entire line of stuff....and I'll guarantee you the traffic is easier to negotiate than it is around Tri-County:ROFL:.  It's been there at least 15 years....which is just about how long it's been since I visited it. But I still get their monthly e-mails with specials.
