A few years ago, one my grandsons was really into "Cars", the movie, and had about 50 models of the various vehicles in Matchbox sizes.    I made him a chair a la Tow Mater based on a scaled down Adirondack chair.   It went into his bedroom and within a year or so he'd moved on to superheros. 

 

My daughter decided he'd outgrown it and wondered what to do with it.   I'd put so much time and love in it, I hated to just see it go do Goodwill or such that on our visit this weekend said I'd bring it home and decide its fate.    We got it loaded in my van and he (now almost 10) was really broken up.  His parents had not told him of the plans and he said it was a "special gift" to him.    We took it back inside and he spent the rest of day sitting in it in front of the TV watching football games (he knows much more about football at college and pro level than I ever did).

Sometimes it's hard to tell what ideas strike home.
