I'm only applying a ghostly small amount of color and one never knows when enough is enough till its too late..... as the real time brightness won't show until the clear goes on over it... IMG_20191125_154055146.jpg.4ae0bb3855d81deed43f250e55ea027d.jpg  It will end up being a wall hanging view for I decided we have no flat area left in our 500 square foot house.

Artie its okay to tell me whats wrong with it. I promise I won't go and throw rocks at your house.

Oh I meant to show what it was I was using  to go by when I started this thing.. I think its a picture of a Russian barometer or I think that's what the writing tells me??? Not an expert in anything and for sure not even Russian anything!IMG_20191026_103841513.jpg.79349eeba326ef170dafff805a0da58f.jpg

And besides that, the picture is upside down.

Well then I might have to reconsider.  I might just fill my pockets with rocks and where did you say you live.... I sure hope its close by....

Second thought I probably already know all the bad things anyway......

Another fine carving.  I don't know how you do it or do it so fast.  I always enjoy seeing your productions.

I see nothing wrong with it!!!

Great Job!!!!

Using my trifocals I got...…………...Nothing.  Looks great!!!

This may be the best yet or at least in the top 5. Wonderful job of carving.

If you are looking for something incorrect the only thing I think could have been better is to post this in the Wood forum not the finishing forum.  I see no question releated to finishing.

I studied your work for about 10 minutes and saw no flaws truely outstanding work.

Beautiful job. And, I kinda like it's color, as it is.

I'm sorry Michael Thuman I chose to first post this project in the Scroll Saw forum. I spent lots of time scroll sawing on this thing and if you haven't checked it out over there....you might see why I chose that forum to first enter my project... I'm a nothing woodworker and choose to not go exactly by the book people who do carve might go by. Most of my woodworking projects are not by anyones book but that's fine and am happy to add a few things I make now and then. Do check out some of my other projects and tell me what you think... I ordered my first bits in 2016 so I am learning every day and am finding pleasure in the things I am learning. I get to sit down while the Dremel is running and with the attached flex shaft installed on the end of the Dremel makes this thing perfect for what I do. Most all the clocks I used a set of French curves and drew up clocks that might look good and do try to stay a little on the weird side but not completely wacky...  But some of the clocks started out being a picture just like this clock was a picture of a Russian Barometer and I changed a few things here and there just to see if I could and not completely screw up ..I did add some leg to this thing thinking it would look good on the wall but then  realized we have no more wall space...

Not being able to get my fingers and knuckles to co-operate when I try to grip and put lots of pressure on those carving knives I mostly use a Dremel with some mighty fine 1/8" shaft carbide bits... I have recently added a few of my air grinders in to the mixture of tools to grind away the un wanted wood and I do find this is now an interesting time again in the wood working shop again.

I now have three Dremels hanging where I can reach them and it saves lots of stopping and changing bits making it even more fun.....

That is really looking nice Jess!

Jess the work is truely outstanding sorry if I offended you it was not intenional.  Thanks for the explaination.  I am more a linear wood person.  I don't really like curves becuase they are a pain to get smooth.  Please post a picture when the top coat is on I think it will then blow all our minds.

I wasn't offended Michael I feel like I put things on too much and besides the group seems to feel like you do and so they change places with my post then I can never find the resting place they choose...
