Can a woodworking forum be dangerous

Featured Replies

I think so.

On another forum a first time poster is asking how to hook up 3 phase power.

I find it dangerous to help anyone that doesn't  know to hook up power especially 3 phase...

Maybe I'm wrong...

Unless you're in an industrial area about the only options for using 3 phase equipment is a VFD, or RPC.

If the equipment requires more than 220 volts you'll also have to invest $$$$ in a step up transformer.

Hooking up 120/240 and more is dangerous if you don't know what you're doing.   I would NOT recommend aiding and abetting on a 3-phase hookup for someone with no knowledge.   just my .02 :(

Answer: Hire a qualified electrician.
