Another What is it....

This gotta be for metal working. You don't need diamonds for wood working

tools. I got this in a machinist tool chest that I bought many many years ago.

I googled until I'm blue and I can't even find anything close to anything like

this. I even looks at every J & S Tool on E-bay.  Anyone have any idea what

it might be. There is three different size shafts that fits on the holder. each

one has a diamond embedded in the shaft.

Beats me. But, it sure is neat.

+1. Not a clue.

Now that's a good one Kevin. Could a diamond it the tool suggest also a tool for working on stones?

I am going to move this to the "Member What's It" forum, thanks for the entry Kevin!

Looks like a tool to de-burr the inside of tubing.

The front loop would be needed removed to put any small tubing over the diamond. The company makes diamond dressing tools so I would think it would be fro dressing something. I sent a message to the company hoping for a response. If I get an answer I'll post it here. It looks old.

If those are the original tubes, I’d put the age in the 60’s because the tubes are plastic.

Never saw one of those but would think they are for dressing stones like you said with the mfg's history.  I have seen different dressers other than the face of the stone.  Crank grinders in an engine shop need to have their stones rounded on the edges.  The crankshafts bearing lands are never ground straight into the edge.

Part is listed on their web site and they're still in business.   Had to do some homework on a ratcheting screwdriver and someone posted more info over on Papaws Tools.  You never know what's out there.  :WonderScratch:
