Thank you, Jim.  This always reminds me of my first trip on carrier.  We returned to get on a different ship, but had to upgrade our planes and support equipment.  As we arrived under the Golden Gate bridge, we were met with partial bricks, left over food, boards, flowers.  Some of our crew was injured from these things being tossed at us.  We were put on buses to get to an airplane to take us to NAS Lemoore, CA.  WWII vets cursed, spat and called us druggies and baby killers.  Little did they know what we had been through.  We did our missions as directed and as Gene so well said, "It was our honor to serve."  I am thankful for the experience and service.  I got to see things that I have never seen since and will never see again.  Now, i get to tell stories to my grandchildren.  It's really fun to watch their eyes.
