The local resale store proprietor sometimes texts me when there is something that might interest me.  I got one of those texts last week and stopped by to find that she had a little transitional plane for me to look at. I have had a general rule to not buy a lot of transitional planes but this little guy just spoke to me so a rule was broken once again!  Nothing too unusual here, just a nice little transitional smoother.  HSB Revonoc marked on the toe so Conover Hardware Co. and it has a 92 patent Stanley iron in it.  The iron has been well sharpened, about 3/4 of the wat worn to the keyhole.   Aside from wiping off the dust, is in nice overall condition with minimal rust.  I intend to spruce it up a bit in time but thought I would share a few pics as I got it. 10 bucks damage on this one.

Nice a used but well kept tool

Nice find. For ten bucks, a REALLY nice find.

Nice find.  I don't recall ever seeing one with a wooden shoe and surround.  Very interesting.

Stanley did make a version of that type of plane...

No. 35.....Ohio Tool Co. also had one..

But they called it an 035.  Sold the Stanley, kept the Ohio Tool Co. one.....as it had a thick, tapered iron..

That "thing" behind it?   An Ohio Tool Co.  No. 0-7

I don’t have an Ohio, but I do have the Stanley!  Guess I have liked this size plane more than once. Oh well!  The Ohio is cool too!
