My wife says these are called Russian Dolls. Maybe better known where they are maid, made, Matryoshka or Babushka. They are made of wood turned on a lathe and they all stack into each other...A good project for you real turners!!!!!

Very interesting video, Lew. Whoda thunk potato paste was the base for the rest of the finishes. And, that lime wood looks like a nice carving material. 

They are also referred to as Russian Nesting Dolls.

I'm glad my heritage is "Mutt".   It may really be a fun project though.  Pretty sure their Lime Wood is a from a Linden tree which we refer to as Basswood.  I have a huge Linden/Basswood tree out back.
