 This is a Steve Good pattern that I enlarged to fit a 5" mirror.

 Found the center on the pattern & set a pin in the router table to recess the back with a 1/2" plunge bit and cleaned it out with a bowl bit.

 Set a second pin to route the outside as far as the pattern would allow.

 Secured the mirror with some silicone & covered the back with felt to avoid scratches.
