Made this for my wife's business cards. Stacked the purpleheart on the background to create an inlay. Cut the outer leaves and branch at a 3 degree draft and that allowed it to fit snug into the background.

Cal that is really nice, I love that design. The three degree draft was the key to that tight inlaid fit man, it looks superb. Don't be surprised if you get orders for these, sure they are for your wife's business cards, but you kind of left yourself a business card there too!

One more thing, how did you secure the card holder platform to the inlaid backer piece?

You know that actually has a bit of side business wrote on it.. Might be worth looking into. It's small enough to ship but it's a very personal touch...

 

Maybe a small space at one of those gift stores?

 I ran a 1/4" slot half way into two boards.  She can just pull it apart and lay it flat when she's done with her shows.
