That is really cool. Similar to a Danish water stone pond, compressing the fibers at the joints, once the water hits the joints, they swell and seal.

I also like his chisels, they were sharp! See the clean glassy surface after he cleaned up the mortise bottom? Even paring perpendicular to the grain. Nice craftsmanship.
