I glued up some Yellow Heart, colored ply and Red wood (scrap, no ID) to make this cup. However the wood had other ideas. There was some splitting and other problems..........so I quit before I ruined it. Wood turners would see the problems quickly. My wife will store her crochet needles in it and never care. I do like the colors and stripes, so did she and that is what counts.

Regardless of your critique I think it looks great.  Add to it you gave your wife something I see a att a boy in your future. 

Like that ply , adds a dash of different color. The Red wood looks like Mahogany, lots of pores in the wood.
