Exotic Table

My wife was looking for a piece of furniture and we sent in several stores. I'm glad she didn't find any but I did see a table that really impressed me. I asked about it and the sales guy told me it was imported from Africa and was VERY heavy. It took several men to move it. He told me the name, but I can't remember it. The price.......$9,700. However it was on sale from its regular price (I didn't ask)

What a gorgeous table! All images I’ve seen of African Blackwood don’t match this so I’m not sure what it would be. 😮

They didn't even offer a flashlight or tarp.  What nerve!

I stopped by that furniture store today and the lady salesperson told me that it was from the philippines, not Africa as the other sales guy said. She didn't know the name, but looked it up. Ahamcha is the wood type. I googled it and there are some pictures that look just like it, there are other pictures that look nothing like it. Anyway, it is on sale and the price of $9700 looks to be about double the price as some on the web

You mean to tell us that, at that price, they won't deliver?

At least, they could have offered a tarp or two so you could slide it into place.
