February 16, 20197 yr Popular Post My wife was looking for a piece of furniture and we sent in several stores. I'm glad she didn't find any but I did see a table that really impressed me. I asked about it and the sales guy told me it was imported from Africa and was VERY heavy. It took several men to move it. He told me the name, but I can't remember it. The price.......$9,700. However it was on sale from its regular price (I didn't ask)
February 16, 20197 yr Popular Post What a gorgeous table! All images I’ve seen of African Blackwood don’t match this so I’m not sure what it would be. 😮

February 17, 20197 yr It is a very pretty table. I wonder if the wood could be "Wenge"? https://www.woodworkerssource.com/shop/category/wenge.html

February 19, 20197 yr Author I stopped by that furniture store today and the lady salesperson told me that it was from the philippines, not Africa as the other sales guy said. She didn't know the name, but looked it up. Ahamcha is the wood type. I googled it and there are some pictures that look just like it, there are other pictures that look nothing like it. Anyway, it is on sale and the price of $9700 looks to be about double the price as some on the web

February 20, 20197 yr Popular Post At least, they could have offered a tarp or two so you could slide it into place.
