Tales from the repair guy

Featured Replies

I went out today to service a protection plan claim (the majority of my business).   The plans are supposed to cover things like "sudden, unexpected, accidental, and one-time occurrence."*   This lady had about 4 pieces in various states of disrepair, only two of which I got sent to fix.   The dining table was a disaster. long scratches and edge dings all over.   Wouldn't you think if your table was a) vulnerable to scratches and b) you are sliding something across and you see scratches, you'd stop before you got to 18", and then came all the way back?

Sorry but those 18 scratches and dings

are none of that*.  Second piece was a piece that she didn't have a plan on.   She knows how to take good care of furniture.

Good Lord!

Takes all kinds.  Looks like nice furniture.

having an insurance plan for stuff like furniture just encourages abuse of the furniture.  "eh, not my problem, let the insurance guy fix my mistakes"

Surely you went back and reported to the insurers it wasn't a "fault" with the product?
