January 25, 20197 yr Popular Post Here at PWW and other places, veterans get a lot of recognition for their service. However, have you noticed that civilian women rarely get any, if at all? During WWII and later wars, women filled many important roles in supporting the war effort beyond managing the home front. My Mom worked in aircraft repair at Hill AFB. My wife's Mom assembled artillery shells in Ontario, Canada. Many women worked in the Red Cross providing medical care. When the war ended, the returning men displaced the women from many jobs. We are all family. I think some recognition for their supportive service would be good. hat

January 26, 20197 yr Still hard to see Wives aren't considered as veterans. They served a very great service. When I was at sea, I didn't worry, because my Wife had everything under control. So much so that I had trouble getting it back after my seagoing days came to an end.
