Looking good Jess.  What are those little blue flowers in the grass?

Dan I think you don't need glasses..Thats the little pieces of blue tape I covered the areas where the stacked pieces will be glued on after the lacquer dries. The picture has them back in their dowel holes but not glued in yet..thus the tape on the ground... I'm always in a hurry to see if that last procedure helped or not and sometimes even before the paint has dried enough!

Gene how is the wife, any improvement yet? It took my wife a week or so to decide if the operation helped or not.

Patch, this project is one of your best (until the next one of course). I really like the natural finish and the contrasts.

Great tribute & gift for your family...you've created an heirloom.

PLEASE, PLEASE, please make sure you sign and date it on the back.

...and thanks for posting in the Woodcarving Forum

Thanks for asking, Jesse. She's doing great. Except for a few twinges, that the doc says will go away, she's pain free. She's planning to go trail riding on the Polaris Ranger this Saturday. She wouldn't even have considered that, a week ago.

Please talk her into waiting a bit longer.  Pain may be masked right now and she may make the injury worse because of not feeling it.

Gene this time you needed to listen to Dr. Dan!!!!!!   You could just start the machine up and let it run for a few days outside her window so she will be more so ready but at least wait a few days.

Shucks I even ,maid, my wife wait till the second day after her operation to weed eat.

After much cajoling, I think she's decided to wait a while on the 4 wheeler ride. Two of her most endearing qualities are impatience and stubbornness. The pains have almost ceased so, she thinks she's good to go.

She can't see the incision, so when I change the dressing, I can exaggerate the lack of healing a little.

Gene one thing about today's operations is you almost need glasses to see the scar as the wife's is about 1/2" long.
