My first wood turning project in 42 years

Try not to laugh too hard but this is my first project on a lathe in 42 years. I have used a lathe since I made a file handle in wood shop class in high school. I had visions of inside out ornaments and fancy bowls but I came up with this. I suppose we all must start somewhere but I had a blast watching the wood chips fly. Trust me I will be asking a lot of questions as I try to improve my skills.

What's to laugh about? Turned (no pun intended) out very nice. I'd say the 42 year hiatus didn't matter at all. Thanks for sharing.

FWIW, don't wait another 42 years before posting your next turning...my sight might not be so good at 108:P

No pressure, and in case your interested. There's still time and EWT would be appreciative.

I would say pretty good for first turning as a teen. Now on to bigger and better

Absolutely!! That is awesome!

Looking forward to seeing more of you work!

APPLAUSE!!! Well done!

Looks darn good from here. Yes, you do have to start somewhere but remember, we all started at the same place.

Steve

Looking good.  Ask away with any questions.  Lots of help here.
