October 10, 20187 yr Popular Post I call this style of turning, inside out. When I first started I had no idea that I would run into a bad place. I cleaned it out and used sawdust, soda and CA to fill the void. Now it is a jewel My wife loves it. Happy wife, happy life Edited October 10, 20187 yr by Ron Altier forgot pictures
October 10, 20187 yr Looks good Ron. I've tried inside out ornaments but just haven't figured it out. Steve
October 10, 20187 yr Author Steve, I've done about 5 or 6 and not all were successful. Early attempts failed because the glue or tape allowed movement. Now I use quarter inch ply screwed to the ends of the pieces and all stays tight.
October 11, 20187 yr Popular Post Great save on the imperfections now looks like a knot. I did over 20 one year for Christmas and it took a few to learn my errors. I used hot glue for the first turn and have seen some use PVA and use a extra long blank so the glued ends are sawed off. These were kind of large so next time I will make them smaller.

Cut a few pieces to fit, wire them together and send wire up through a hole drilled down from the top. Add a couple beads and put a loop in the wire and add a hook. The large balls are one inch glass balls. Those are put in the middle wrapped in thin foam rubber while the outside is being turned.
