Thanks, Gene, For a great video. God gave that man the talent to do working and he took advantage of it. Not everyone takes advantage of what God gives them.

He's having more fun his shop than he would in a courtroom.

ah yes, the client from hell:

she wanted a custom cutting board.  i designed it.  sent pic, she liked the pic.  built it, sent pic.  she liked the pic.  shipped it.  crickets for 6 weeks.  dozens of excuses for the check not arriving.  finally ask her directly "where's my check?"....well..... the work wasn't "fancy" enough, and the husband didn't like it.  so she wasn't going to pay for it.

sorry, that wasn't our agreement.

eventually, got the work back, no check for anything, and then gave it away.

lesson learned.

i like working in my shop.  but i don't like working for people, much less doing paperwork for the .gov's benefit.

Gene, that was a wonderful video. What a great guy. I really loved hearing him speak about his passion and his experience. He is an inspiration to all who wish to turn their hobby into any type of income generation. I have heard many of these successful woodworkers in business, there are literally tens of thousands of examples I am convinced, of woodworkers turning their passions into profit. I know of at least a few dozen in my own social media circles who are making a full time living, successfully in the trade and art.

I really like his take on patterns, I can completely relate. I have a few patterns I created over the past decade of some colonial furnishings I have made for customers, and my patterns were created for the scalloped trim and skirts, and I know I'll never use them again, more than likely not, but I just cannot throw them away, I love seeing them hanging on my wall, they bring back great memories of those projects.

Thanks Gene again for finding another jewel, another success story.
