September 21, 20187 yr Popular Post Blue and white ply can be tricky to turn and has defects in it. It also bleeds color and the blue made my glue turn blue. It chips out when you don't expect it and it looks like it changes colors as you slowly rotate it by hand. None the less, I finished it.

September 22, 20187 yr I have not heard of blue ply either Ron, but that is gorgeous! And I think the glue turning blue just adds to it. What do you finish it with?
September 22, 20187 yr Author Rocklers and Woodcraft both carry a large supply of multi colored wood and acrylic blocks. Both in sizes for turning pens and larger ones for other turnings. After sanding and using 0000 steel wool, I use Hut friction finish. After it drys I spray with Rustoleum 2x clear spray. The spray tends to fill the tiny holes that the ply sometimes has.
