August 10, 20188 yr comment_156322 Hi: Anyone have an idea what joint(s) may have been used by Illum Wikkelso on his so-called "JAX" coffee table? The arms are over 40" apart and the top would have weighed over 100 lbs. Report
August 10, 20188 yr comment_156323 I'm guessing it was an interlocking sliding mortis. Whatever, it involve some very precise fitting. Your guess of 100 lb glass top may be a tad light. The one I saw was beveled and the flat part of the edge was approximately 3/8". Again, just a guess but, the glass thickness was close to 1/2"...or more. Report
