Hi: 

Anyone have an idea what joint(s) may have been used by Illum Wikkelso on his so-called "JAX" coffee table?  The arms are over 40" apart and the top would have weighed over 100 lbs.

    I'm guessing it was an interlocking sliding mortis. Whatever, it involve some very precise fitting. 

    Your guess of 100 lb glass top may be a tad light. The one I saw was beveled and the flat part of the edge was approximately 3/8". Again, just a guess but, the glass thickness was close to 1/2"...or more.
