July 29, 20187 yr Doctor in our club says the dust has a burr on the end to lodge in lungs and not come out. It so soft that sanding can easily take out details. It has hard and soft spots wider than grain lines so it is easy to get a gouge or catch. Mind you it is turnable and using a flowing design and good dust protection should work . Now as to finishing it is best to seal with shellac before using a film coat because it will cause the finish to crackle in time. have not tried a oil finiish so that may work better than film finish.
