Church Project

I was approached by the pastor of our church and asked if I could build an Ambry - I said YES, but what the hell is an Ambry?  LOL

Basically, in the Catholic church an Ambry is what holds the Holy Oils.  It needed to be a 3 compartment piece of furniture.  I asked if he had an idea of what he wanted - he provided me a picture of this 3 tiered, interlocking piece that blew my mind.  I had to actually draw it up in Sketchup so I could comprehend how the pieces needed to be cut to fit properly.

This is what I came up with, complete with locking glass doors, and custom build stained glass on the sides.

Wow! Great piece. Did you do the stain glass work or commission it done?

I gotta' believe your Pastor was more than happy with this piece!

Very nice.  My dad's hobby was stained glass.  You've done a wonderful job with it and the wood working too.

No, I did not do the stained glass.  The glass actually came from our church from windows removed.  A former priest (now pastor for another parish) did the stain glass work.
