I'm working on putting finish on a bunch of building planks, a la Lincoln Logs.   First coat I wiped on.   For second coat, I'm considering doing a roller as a trial.   These are toys that will get some rough treatment, so perfection is not needed.  Anyone ever try this technique?

 

 

 

Well,I tried it this afternoon and give it a C-.    Faster than a brush, slower than a spray.   I had a hard time getting an even coat and it was hard to control the wet film thickness.   Lots of bubbles that yes, did seem to pop out OK on a fairly porous wood.  Don't think I'll be doing that again too soon.
