May 1, 20188 yr Kinda pertaining to the post on saw blades I had been using a Sears 10" tablesaw I bought from a salesman at the chevy house the week I got out of the army in 1960 until about 18 years ago.....After retiring and deciding I didn't like the idea my wife come up with and that was to live in the motor home the rest of our lives and travel......So I say no and get in the pickup and we are going to Springfield, Mo to buy some new woodworking tools so I can build something!! We got home with almost one of all the machinery Grizzly had to offer.. The most used being the 10" table saw was what came out of the cartons first... then we went to Abilene to get some saw blades. HF here we come....I bought a blade and home we went.....This saw cut so good the next day I went back and bought a whole case of the same blade....I had never seen a piece of wood split in to with a table saw that both halves were perfect to sight and to the feeling test... So as of this morning I was reading the pros and cons of blade brands and styles someone had posted.... This got me to thinking, was it the new table saw or the new blades or the fact of what I was using prior to having something new be the deciding factor that made me think like I did back then.... Or was it the fact that all the guys who gave their take on the best blades, could they have been playing football without helmets or pads contribute to their decisions......Hey, this case of 10" table saw blades , thats 12 or 18 individual blades and the total price was less than one of the blades mentioned in the post... and no I didn't open that case to count how many I have left but am almost sure I have only used 3 blades since I have owned the new saw....And it could mean I don't know doodle-lee-squat about woodworking....And to add more to my thinking, I don't remember seeing some of these guys ever posting something they have made so that leads me to believe they might know nothing to start with and are just passing along hear-say...

Well I admit I have a couple of H-F 8" 40t blades; one on a little cheapy B&D 8" table saw I bought for $5 and one on a Rockwell 9" Homecraft I paid the extortion price of $25 Both do surprisingly well and give very clean cuts also...Since I bought the blades at different times, I also got a couple of free flashlights 1 hour ago, Smallpatch said: could they have been playing football without helmets or pads contribute to their decisions That might explain my purchasing decisions then...until Jr. High, football, played for years without a helmet or pads..We used to have some pretty vicious touch football family games every Thanksgiving too
May 1, 20188 yr I like Tenryu. But, if what you're using gets the job done for you, that's great. Harbor freight sells scroll saw blades, too. 😋
May 1, 20188 yr GO Harbor Freight!!!! About 18 yrs. ago I was at a show and this old Asian guy, Mr. Hill was selling these Sunhill blades, 40t and 60t. 10" blades. The carbide was quite thick and sharp, for $14.00 show price, $22.00 regular price, he also had a line of woodworking tools, Sunhill ,TS, Jointers, etc. and they were sold along side the Oliver tools, I bought the 6 jointer. they were good cutting blades, and I later called Oliver to get some more, and found the old guy had passed away, but they were selling his blades by the case for $8.00/ea. so I bought a case of ea. and I use them for general cutting where I don't want to use my good freud blades. It i cheaper than sharpening and last a good time. Herb
May 1, 20188 yr Author Some time later I was looking up the saw blade number and they had done away with it or else they changed the number and has raised the price of all their 10" blades. Neighbor had asked me what I used and I told him any of their blades are okay but didn't offer to let him have any of the ones I have stocked away.....I also didn't know about any of their other blades which I should not have said what I did....I might be getting some what more honest as each day passes. But not especially for spiritual or any other reasons that I know of.
