April 24, 20188 yr Popular Post took delivery today. This machine is a DREAMBOAT~!! DREAM BLEEDIN STINKIN BOAT~!!! Dreamboat~!! Rotation is a breeze, up and down is by crank handle, full 6 inches of quill, head rotates more than 45 degrees both ways, In and out along the dovetails is on Roller bearings and is smooth smooth smooth. And the table. MONSTER LARGE with T slots - - - - TEE SLOTS~!!!!!!!!! I can't tell you how many times I have cursed the miserably small size of my DP table. Now it's a whole zip code with TEE SLOTS~!!! I may swap out the motor for a 3/4 hp motor.. The one on it is a 220 / 440 3ph 1/2hp - - - half a horse and they made it to run on 440 and 3ph. Well I guess they were selling it into the industrial market. The rear drive belt is new. It's the wrong size so I'm replacing it. I'd like to put my baldor 1hp reversible brake motor on it, but it just won't fit. I'd need to rig up a right angle drive and mount the motor horizontally. I can do that but not now. So It's the 3/4 hp or I use a phase converter. I am getting a phase converter for my 14" engine lathe so I could run it off that easily enough. RUST? What Rust? This thing was babied. There's wood derbies in the hidden places so I'm sure it was used in a wood shop not a metal shop.

Very nice Cliff...green with envy; at least I hope that's why I'm green. I agree probably used only in a wood environment...if it had been used in a metal shop the catch tray would be stained with coolant... Wonder if this was used in a trade school shop? That would be my guess as clean & nice as this unit is.

I was flaberghasted when I cut the poly wrap away to see that the table hadn't been drilled silly. 28 minutes ago, lew said: You keep this up and you're gonna need a bigger basement! I still want a milling machine. I am struggling right now trying to find the proper help to move my engine lathe to my selected location. I can leave it where I have it now but it's not option A. It's option C. I spent some time looking for a rigger but all the ones I found were too big for me. I'd spend five times what I paid for the machine.
