I had a little time yesterday after meeting my brother for lunch before I had to get back home. I hadn't been to Habitat for Humanity Restore for quite some time. Also stopped at the "Flea Market Warehouse" and one other small flea market...found these two "treasures" at H4H Restore. Spent a total of $1.39 including the tax. The blue sticker is discounted 20%.

Always can use the "scotchbrite for something...Surform plane to turn quality lumber into chips faster thus saving time:rolleyes:..."twin" for my 40+ y/o Craftsman version.

Good finds but it will get better as it gets warmer.  More vendors will show up.

Seems like it's the inverse here...at least through the summer;  yard & garage sales attract the customer base and the indoor market's inventory diminishes; typically a lot of vendor booth closures in the summer.  No doubt many of the vendors are out shopping the same yard sales building their inventories too.:P

H4H Restore went through a complete indoor remodel and restructure about 6 months ago. Their current inventory is nothing like it used to be...they used to almost always have power tools both hand & stationary...I haven't seen  any of that since the restructure. While more organized than it used to be, there's a lot less merchandise; a lot more furniture and knick-nack stuff like a Goodwill. I'm pretty sure the leadership changed then too...people who had worked there for some time are no longer there.

Similar has happened at the "Flea Market Warehouse." The founder of it passed away in October. While most of the proceeds used to benefit the local YW/MCA, ownership and management was retained by the founder. Since his passing, the YW/MCA board now operates it. Their philosophy has changed dramatically. Seems the donations have fallen off considerably and pretty much the same old stuff. I suspect the "good stuff" is being culled out before it ever gets placed out for resale.

Went to two out of three yard sales, Friday...nada.   Might be a tad early in the "season"?

Is this year I think with the lack of real spring time weather...

I hit the only place open around here today, "Barn Finds".  A few broken screwdrivers, bent wrenches, and warped nails! I really have to find another place, since I already HAVE all those things! :(
