April 5, 20188 yr Cliff, it's hard to discern exactly which Dewalt that is in the second pic, but if it's a 1030 I had been looking for one for several years (finally settled on a 1030K, the square arm version). They aren't all that common. But you probably know all that. Edited April 5, 20188 yr by Fred W. Hargis Jr
April 5, 20188 yr A few years ago, I posted an auction offering listed as "table saw" It was a Craftsman circular saw in a box that said "Saw" and it was sitting on a Workmate clone. Hence saw + table = table saw. The difference between genius and stupidity is genius has limits.

Yeah, well this was done by someone at the auction house, a "lotter." Some know what they are doing, a lot just call something "vintage" if it is old. BTW, I visited a widow with a friend this week. Her late husband had a great shop and we recommended she take it to an auction nearby. They'll move it out and get rid of it all in one fell swoop. Apparently, this place gets a lot of Mennonite and Amish wood shop owners that bring a big roll of cash and outbid everyone else. 18" band saw, 36" wide belt sander, 15" Woodmaster planer, Jessum router table, Powermatic 8" jointer, Onieda Dust Gorilla, Jet mortising machine, were some of the highlights. I have also never seen so many cordless tools in one place. I think whenever he had a new type of project, he'd buy a new drill/driver, hammer driver, impact driver, deck screw driver, drywall screw driver, etc. ad nauseum. Some of the surprising things: not one hand plane, just a few router bits, a couple of junky routers other than the one in the table, and a couple of pieces he must have inherited from his father - a 4x48 belt sander with 6" disk sander and a low end Delta RAS.

Well, to be fair, my first table saw was a circular saw mounted upside down in a Hirsch saw . It was pretty basic, and not at all accurate, but it gave me enough of a taste to realize I wanted to continue in woodworking. Next saw was a Delta contractor saw, which I still use.
