you know those  round or square skirts of  long flexible brush material that you surround the cutter head with to catch chips and  dust. 

Where  do you source them?

 

On this legacy ornamental mill I have is thick strips of clear flexible plastic that are laid overlapping each other to stop the chips from flying all over the place. Something that came with the machine. And being clear I can still see a little through it. This is where I might be positioned to watch the router while it is running. Wouldn't be hard to make something like that.. This soft plastic is about 1/16" thick. I thought they overlapped a little but after looking that is one piece with slits cut about 1 1/4" apart.

  You should be able to make one that circles the router with out much problems.

I just ordered some.  Wanna make my router milling machine DC more effective.

 

Yeah, I keep thinking I'm going to do the same thing but the one I built out of MDF and a $5 broom from Lowe's a year ago as a temp is still working - go figure!  If I had been trying to build one to last it would probably have failed by now - LOL!

Instead I got a brush made for the purpose but it's too stiff. I think I'll try the cheap garbage from the BORG

 

Mine is actually a bit too stiff, as well.  But I make it work.
