Welllllllllllll, there are times when I just want to do more with the project.  Then the angel on the other shoulder says, "Fred....... what's wrong with this beautiful project you have already created?"  I think we will always find that the second time we do a project, it will be more.

Jesse, I quit when I get tired of looking at the darned thing. Sometimes, it's just as good as it's ever gonna get. 

In every piece of yours I've seen, it looks like you stopped at the perfect point. 

Patch, from my seat on the west side of Indiana, this clock has set the bar for all future clocks. IMHO, this is your best ever!

I'm curious though to see how you're going to finish this one with all the intricate details.

Ah haw my friend,John,^, the finishing part is the easiest of the whole project for this was all thought out before I started years ago.

This is another reason I can't figure out why guys buy that very expensive exotic wood when a little stain is a whole lot cheaper and only the barber would know the difference.. 

 

 John and here I thought you were more uptown than to say than being from the west side of indiana. The north side of Ohio sounds way more important than the west side of any where.

From a turners point of view, that "one more little" usually turns into a disaster.

John I didn't answer you on how I will finish this thing as I took it to be what color of stain....Not a clue yet...I'm still in to the trying to make all the ends meet and not look out of place . I have to post it so I can sit and think and you know, there are more of those things than I want to admit...

Right now, black has been ruled out.

 

But right now I am making a little cell phone about an inch in length to lay down on the ground under the indian on the horse. That is what I finally figured out why he had his head pointed down to the ground, trying to figure out how to retrieve the phone without getting down off his horse..

 and probably true for John whoever he is, but plain 'ole Grandpadave never aspired nor claimed to be uptown.

My roots are too deep now to dig up and move very far...maybe the Marble & Granite Orchard, but that'll be about it..

If I've been on a project for a while, I sit it off to one side in a location where I can still see it as I walk by. It really helps. Then one day I will pass it and a new idea pops in my head, "It needs another detail" and I am back in the groove again with new thoughts.
