Worst thing anymore is hand sanding...IMG_0072.JPG.48c0bd25824df445d23bc4ab5ec65361.JPG

Holding a piece in my hand to be sanded and with my bad thumb tied behind my back it sure is hard to get much done.

Still no idea what it will look like!! Right now it looks like another week of sanding...

Gene, upside down does look  like it will work.. Have to ask Mrs. whats her name. Honey, come here, need your advise!IMG_0066.JPG.ef676026751d9011e1bd78c30705617e.JPG

Holy cow Patch...you've done some fantastic work on your clocks but these one is over the top!

Right side up or upside down..doesn't matter...the amount of detail is amazing.

You get better every time,patch.

Wow! As Dave opined, either way looks great. Though to my eye,the long curly part likes to hang down.

This one is your best yet. And, that's saying a lot.

One handed sanding has got to be unwieldy.

That is a crazy amount of work and I admire your stamina.  You are the master.

I’m no expert BUT,  that looks like it crosses the line from craftsman to artist! (If I was tech savvy, this is where the emoji/meme thingy would be, with a baseball cap being tipped in your direction)

I'm no artist just a tinkerer. There are so many things a person can do to anything they start building and mine usually turn in to something else before I get er done.

I have to have a picture of what I am doing to see if I accept my own stuff...IMG_0073.JPG.216cbda395555ee38ba667832a99ca5f.JPG

I just have to see where it is I am going. I built the wood frame around the last clock dial and was going to use it then but I had already tapered the wood around it too much and couldn't get things to lay flat so this is why I decided to try my thoughts again...

Beg to differ Patch...I've seen a lot of your work by now...you ARE an artist of wood! Please keep up this magnificent work.

That precisely is what a true artist does...starts with a vision, then takes it where it goes!

I added more quirky cues.IMG_0079.JPG.bd75c91eb4c9019d719e1d4145e0fc88.JPG

Again, the artist and his(her) vision evolves.:)

I love it, so much detail, Sven the scroll work on the clock dial matches your handy work. I could never even attempt something like that.

Oh boy, Jess - that is really coming along!  And I agree with Gene, I like the long part to be hanging down.
