I need to start up a defunct website clearing house, where frustrated web owners or just plain ol tired owners can contact us and let us transfer their years of hard work and information to a dedicated department, we can do that you know, too bad folks are so ready to shut it all down, I'd love to get into the information preservation projects for woodworking, so sad.

That one (ask HLM) had a couple of articles I linked often in replies...too bad but understandable. He was (I guess) spending pocket money to keep it going. Maybe it was just a temporary thing. I wish I had burned that stuff to a CD.

Same here Fred.

I've got a few of them downloaded, but not all.   And they were copyrighted.

 

I joined a beekeeper's club a couple of summers ago.  I'd belonged back in the '80s.   When I went to their web site, it was a Russian date/porno site.   The person in charge did not know you have to renew the URL license every once in a while and it got re-sold and taken over by the pornographers.

Just goes to show if it is something of value: print it or copy and paste into wordprocessor program. I have seen several of my book marks disappear lately or least when I checked a few days ago.
