I'm guessing many of you have crafty wives that complement your skills.   Mine has sewn all her life and now does a lot of quilting.   She was out yesterday and saw something that's now on my to-do list.   Take a sheet of fine grit sandpaper and glue it down on a piece of hardboard or plywood.   She can then put a piece fabric on it, put a ruler on top and draw a pencil line without the fabric stretching or bunching up. 

 

Might get you some "points."

I will tell my wife about that too as she quilts and embroiders also.    Never hurts to have extra points as they can be erased quickly.    Roly

Good idea guys.  Just make sure its a new piece of paper.  Got to keep the fabric clean.
