I have jigsaw puzzles on my iPad. This was a "free" puzzle showing a tree in Denmark.

Some type of birch. Probably Yellow Birch.

(i'm just guessing, mostly wanted to get a lumberjack joke in).

the mighty Larch is a conifer, so that's not a Larch.

 

but.....you can still be a lumberjack!

Might be a Beech or Alder, both are native to Denmark.

Possibly beech, but mine have a very much smoother bark than that.

It looks like a Beech tree. My former neighbor gave a large one for firewood. As I remember it was full of . sap, even tho it had been down for 2 years.  I did burn some, but the tar in my chimney caught fire

I'm thinking Beech with growth problems.  My Beech trees don't have the rings.

Bark is much too smooth, and I don't believe the leaves turn yellow in the Fall.

Well, I am a logger from Coos Bay, Oregon, been topping trees, quite possibly the toughest man alive...
