In my travels yesterday, I stopped in a gun store to look at a varmint rifle. The manager was my salesman. He's interested in displaying a couple pistol presentation boxes.

Then, in the liquor store where I get my Dell Bac, that manager wants a steady supply of wine gift boxes.

And, the owner of that knife and gun finishing supply house is interested in a few knife cases.

Told them all that I'm slow. None seemed to mind.

Looks like I'm gonna be busy for a while. Gotta get the table done and another rifle case. Then, start on little boxes. Fun times ahead.

Sounds like you're in a position to do some major bartering.

Obviously they recognize an opportunity to partner along side a fine craftsman.

Good on you Gene!

talk about being in thr right place at the right time..

nice going Gene...

WOW! Just hope that all of that doesn't become "work" and take the fun out of woodworking.

That's what I was going to say.  I didn't know he was looking for a job.

This is the part that may keep you too busy.

It is a wonderful thing that all these people value your work.  I am happy for you.

Talk about stepping into it. Was there a rainbow that day that you followed? Happy for you to get such opportunity.

If you can hook up with a cigar shop, you have alcohol, tobacco, and firearms covered!

Lew, once the fun is gone, I'll quit. But heck, except for the pine wine boxes, everything else will be mesquite. There's enough challenges there to keep me in fun for a while.

DAB, I'll leave the cigars to the expert...Waxing Moon.

I own a few fire arms, have smoked a few seegars and drank a good bit of Scotch. Does that qualify?;)

Naw... I stay firm on onesies. For multiples, we can talk.

Few decades ago, friend want a display for his old army .45.  IT WAS NICHOLE PLATED.

When it was finished it kinda leaned back from bottom, used Styrofoam under  GREEN FELT to imbed the pistol and clip. Glass covered the front, put a little fence around the front two corners.

Cya

When it rains, it pours!!

I’m just glad you didn’t need to run into a plumbing supply that day, you’d be making outhouses now. (Sorry, that’s just how my mind works).
