weld tab nut

Featured Replies

Recently I just put up a LED light in my garage / shop. When I bought the light it did not come with any mounting hardware and I wanted to hang it from the ceiling with a chain. The light has some mounting tabs on the side, but the challenge is that they have slots instead of just a round hole in them. And the bottom on the slot is flush with the top of the fixture. My solution to it was to use a 3/8” weld tab nut.

Good thinking, but Man! that is one robust looking light fixture....is that box welded??

Thankyou Fred. Yes, the fixture housing is welded aluminum. It is made for hazardous and wet locations.SNelsonLabel1.jpg.a010b67d57e24bbbb1a556c203a21a5f.jpg

Excellent choice...WOW...can a light fixture get any more massive...?  :)

That is not a light fixture. And, those are not wimpy chains, neither.

Well anyway, I guess that I brought the subject up about the weld tab nut for those that may not know of such a nut. They have come in very handy for me in several situations where a simple nut isn't the best answer.
