Super trivet

Featured Replies

Since I've been making trivets lately, and have now opened our Etsy shop, I decided my son needed a trivet for his cooking.  But it couldn't be just any ol' trivet.  Rather, it had to be Super.  After all, his bread pudding is to die for and I want to make sure he keeps bringing some over!  LOL!

Made of Cherry, coated in mineral oil, and cut on the CNC.  Here's the mediocre video of making the Super trivet -

Enjoy!

That is just Super David! ;) BTW, I think the "mistake step" added some true character to it.

Since I'm mostly clueless, what was the actual run-time for a project like this?

Mesmerizing to watch...

Thanks, glad you like it!

Some of it was real time, some was doubled in speed.  I have a choice in producing the video - I can either show 15-30 seconds of real time cutting and not show the entire cut or speed it up and show the entire cut.  Sometimes I do the first, sometimes the latter, sometimes a combination.  It will cut much faster than I actually cut this but I wasn't in a hurry so, while it appears to move at a pretty decent speed when it's actually cutting, when you watch it in video it appears to be pretty slow (and boring).

I liked the picture in picture feature too...great touch.

Still curious though about actual cut time to complete the project...

Counting the back air slots it was about 16 minutes.  I could probably do it in 12 if I needed to do a lot of them.

That came out good ,David, and good video too.
