Mini review, brad point bits

Featured Replies

If you live near a Menards, and could use some brad point bits this may be of interest. They have the Montana 6 piece set on clearance. I picked this deal up on another forum, and bought a set for myself. For the record, I've had the excellent LV set for many years, and they still cut very clean holes...but they also cost quite a bit more. I tried the Montana bits (made in USA) and they do a very acceptable job, though they aren't as clean cutting as the LV. So if you need a set of brad points (and have a Menards nearby) these are a very good buy. You can check your local store and see if they have any on the shelf at the link.

I'm not sure who does who but Hitachi and Montana brand are the same. Something to think about...

I buy both depending who is cheaper..

Montana Tools....

any Hitachi bit I have ever used has been less than satisfactory...

Was in Menards the other day.....they still had a few sets of the Montana bits......sitting right beside the  "Tool Shop" sets.....don't have a need for them, at the moment...

The closest Menard's is over 400 miles away, so...

That would definitely make them more expensive than the LV!giggle.gif

Here are a couple things I use from both that have worked well....I did change to the Dewalt flips for countersinking as the Montana brand were getting harder to find...
