Welcome, Ben. The new members are expected to bring doughnuts when they first join. However, many have been ducking out on the tradition. Those that do bring them get blindsided by the doughnut hogs (you know who you are) and the rest of us miss out. So, since I never get any dog-nuts, I'm going for pie and Vanilla ice cream.

 

Don't worry and wonder why you're here...just join the fun and learn as you go. There are some real talented and knowledgeable folks here.

Which reminds me, does anyone beside me find it easier to guide a workpiece thru a scroll saw blade by sprinkling a few grains of salt (or sugar) on the table?

Wax the table instead...

buff it hard...

and you won't risk contaminating your finish...

Huh, what!?

 

When I was growing up in PA we all knew that there were no such states as Ohio and Indiana. All there were was license plates. We figured that they sent them out all over the country for people to put on their cars. Either that, or people didn't like staying in those states. So they traveled so they wouldn't have to stay there.

 

Why are you guys still perpetuating the myth that those two states actually exist?

Welcome to TPW @Benjamin Jones...Glad you found us...hey, as you can tell, several of us don't know why we're here from time-to-time but we have a lot of fun just the same. I'm pretty sure you'll like it here a lot and fit in just fine. 

 

Just so you know, donuts are essential shop tools needed for, well every job...kinda like glue and finishes...just work them in to every project budget...your wife will never know. Well, as long as you keep the crumbs cleaned up.
