I still don't have the pendulum bob ready yet. Only this next time I will try to use the jig saw...This next one will be a bigger version of this same clock about five inches taller.

The pattern is longer than what the scroll saw can handle......And this is my only out...

Nice looking clock.

Had some doubts about those colors when you started but that really turned out nice!

Another beauty Jess.

Great look . At first sight had thought a clock i n a forest. Very pleasing color combo.

Thanks guys, I'm running out of colors except for water colors we collected at garage sales and actually they are the easiest to use. But they are too dull to make a statement.

Some how I will need to attach a sheet of thick clear plastic over this next pattern so the jig saw don't rip up the pattern while twisting and turning with the saw??

That turned out spectacular Patch...the oval clock face really sets this one apart.

Well done! Thanks for sharing with us.

There are 81/2" x11" sheets of a clear plastic made to protect documents that are a PSA type of material. You would need to use several and I'm not sure what they would cost, but I'll bet they'd work for your application.

Thanks Fred I just got back home a while ago and thought I would scour Hobby Lobby and Walmart to see if I can find one sheet to cover 29" long x less that much wide. I'll end up with a bunch of unstable stuff thick so I need to keep from overlapping if I can. This will be one of those maybe so , probably no things but lots of guys don't have scroll saws is my reason for giving this a trial with a jig saw! In the original picture I copied one side carving matched the opposite side but on mine I am still playing around on different shapes and seeing which looks the best with less work. These are learning steps for me and actually fun to do. I haven't watched any you tube cause they are probably learning also and I like to do my own thing even if its wrong..

Clock looks great!  Did you recently get a new scroll saw?

Danl

That's a really nice clock. Must be the camera angle, the face looks round, not oval.

Nope, went back and magnified it. Now I see it.

I bought my last new dewalt in 99. I've bought a few used dewalts at auctions since but nothing recently. I'm gonna see what I can do with the jig saw since this next pattern of the same clock is too long for the dewalt to turn  while cutting...

Probably the aluminum foil hat causing signal interference:lol::D

There could be something to that. Maybe a switch to Reynolds or Alcoa would help. I mean, who knows who makes Kirkland foil.
